LEARNING OUTCOME 4

Peer ReviewBe able to critique their own and others’ work by emphasizing global revision early in the writing process and local revision later in the process.

Peer review has honestly helped my writing a lot because it gave me real feedback from people who actually read my work. Sometimes when I’m writing, it all makes sense in my head, but through peer review, I realized parts of my essay weren’t always as clear to others as I thought. It also pointed out little mistakes or areas I could explain better that I probably would’ve missed on my own. Getting different perspectives helped me rethink how I organized my ideas and made me want to be more careful with how I word things. Overall, peer review made me slow down, look at my writing through fresh eyes, and just make everything sound stronger and more put together.

Faiths peer review comment on my project 3 essay

Faith’s peer review honestly helped me a lot more than I expected. She pointed out stuff that I just didn’t notice while I was writing, like how I needed to properly cite my sources right from the intro and keep it consistent the whole way through. I also didn’t even realize I was supposed to only use the authors’ last names when talking about them, so that was super helpful. Faith gave me good feedback on the actual content too. She said my deeper analysis was solid, but I needed to explain the basic arguments a little more so that everything made more sense. That really made me step back and see where I was assuming the reader already knew what I meant. Her advice about using the Barclay’s paragraph template helped too because, honestly, my ideas were kind of scattered at first. She also pushed me to use longer quotes instead of tiny pieces so that my analysis would feel stronger without having to over explain everything. One of the best tips she gave was about the conclusion. She reminded me that it’s not just about summarizing, it’s about leaving the reader with something to think about. Faith didn’t just catch little mistakes she actually helped me improve the whole flow and structure of my essay, and I could tell she really took the time to give me real, useful advice.

My end comment on peers 1st essay

Here I was mainly summarizing the key points that I found while revising my peer’s writing. I was mainly focusing on helping them see how they could make their writing stronger by making smoother transitions and using counter-arguments to build off the author’s opinion. I try to use the end comment as a way to show the good areas of the essay and where it needs improvement all in one.
